After graduating from École Centrale de Lyon, in France, I spent 12 years in the industry (making mathematical models for financial market derivative products in a French bank, and then working in R&D in the oilfield business at Schlumberger in Houston, TX).
As I had promised myself after graduation, I came back to studying and earned a Ph.D. in engineering physics at Polytechnique Montréal. After a post-doc in the group of Pr. Bertrand Reulet in Sherbrooke, I am back at Poly, in the femtoQ Lab of Pr. Denis Seletskiy.
My research interests are very much grounded in quantum optics. Currently, I am most interested in the behavior of the quantum electromagnetic field in the space/time domains, rather than in the traditional momentum/energy domains. That is, I am interested in the quantum mechanical description of ultrashort, sub-cycle, pulses of light. I believe there is a vast amount of theoretical and experimental work to be done in this domain in the near future. Follow our progress here!
