Students Émile Dessureault (MS), Justine Rakotomalala (MS), and Patrick Cusson (PhD) showcase femtoQ laboratory to the public during the Portes Ouvertes (Open Door) event at Polytechnique Montréal today. The team prepared several informational stands summarizing the research activities @femtoQ and hands-on demos that educate visitors on the coherence, quantum, and broadband properties of light waves.
femtoQ is honored to lead a scientific team of the multi-institutional consortium funded by the European Union and Canada the mid-infrared technologies for quantum sensing (project MIRAQLS). The project includes 9 institutions and 3 industry partners from Canada, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.
A recent graduate at the École Polytechnique de Palaiseau (France), Amin Lakhal joins femtoQ as a Master’s student, aiming to develop novel techniques of time-domain quantum spectroscopy. Best success in your exciting project, Amin!
We are excited to welcome Dr. Shilong Liu to the femtoQ team! Shilong obtained his Ph.D. from the Key Laboratory of Quantum Information at the University of Science and Technology of China following a 1-year postdoctoral position at the University of Ottawa in the group of Professor Ebrahim Karimi. At femtoQ, Shilong aims to implement […]
3 undergraduate students join femtoQ for summer internships. Clarence-Olivier Gaulin and Julien Lauze are currently undergraduate Engineering Physics students at Polytechnique Montréal and are the recipients of the NSERC Undergraduate Research Award – congratulations! Pavel Grebenyuk is an undergraduate Electrical Engineering student at Carleton University. Congratulations and have a productive summer!
Our theoretical proposal on using entanglement-based probes for improving electro-optic sampling of THz and mid-IR quantum fields has just been published, check out the “Publications” tab for more info. Congratulations Stéphane and Patrick on this excellent work and best success in the planned follow-ups!
We are excited to welcome Dr. Sho Onoe (PhD, University of Queensland, Australia). During his postdoctoral tenure, Sho aims to investigate several theoretical aspects of quantum information and measurement in the context of quantum field theory and with applications to experimental quantum electrodynamics. Best success with your ambitious plans!
Justine Rakotomalala (Dipl. Ing., ESPCI Paris) joins as a Master’s student. Her project on nonlinear quantum microscopy of brain tissues is hosted at the Departments of Engineering Physics and Biomedical Engineering, co-supervised with Prof. Frederic Lesage. Welcome Justine and best success in your ambitious project!
Congratulations to Patrick Cusson for being awarded the 2021 Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Medal and to Laurent Rivard for receiving the FRQNT scholarship to continue his Master’s project! We are proud of your accomplishments!
Émile Dessureault (BS in Physics, Université de Montréal) and Clarence-Olivier Gaulin (1st year undergraduate student in Engineering Physics, Polytechnique Montréal) join femtoQ for their summer internships! Welcome to the team and best wishes for your projects!
